1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Apex Browser ("Apex Browser", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Apex Browser Android application. Apex Browser is designed to provide web browsing and related browser features while giving users control over information stored on their device.
By using Apex Browser, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information You Provide
Apex Browser does not require you to create an account to use its core browsing features. Information that you enter into websites, search fields, forms, or other online services is transmitted to the destination website or service as necessary to fulfill your request.
If you voluntarily provide information to us through support or another contact method, we may receive and use that information to respond to your request.
3. Information Stored on Your Device
Depending on the features you use, Apex Browser may store information locally on your device so that the application can function and remember your preferences. This may include:
- Bookmarks and saved pages or links.
- Application preferences, including ad-blocking configurations.
- Browser session and site-related data needed for browser functionality.
- Target URLs, keywords, and cached hashes for the background web monitor.
- Download-related information required to manage downloads.
- Torrent-related information required to manage user-initiated transfers.
Local storage is controlled by the application and, where applicable, by Android's storage and permission mechanisms. Clearing the application's data or uninstalling the application may remove locally stored application data, subject to Android behavior and files that you separately chose to save outside the application's private storage.
4. Browsing Data and Websites You Visit
Apex Browser is a browser, so websites and online services that you access can receive information that is normally necessary to communicate with them, such as your IP address, request information, cookies, and other information controlled by those websites or services.
Websites may independently collect, store, or share information under their own privacy policies. Apex Browser does not control the privacy practices of third-party websites, services, content providers, or download sources that you choose to access.
5. Web Monitoring, Downloads, and Torrent Features
Apex Browser may provide background web monitoring, download, and P2P torrent functionality that you initiate. Information required to manage those operations may be stored locally on your device, including download status, file information, transfer information, and other technical metadata necessary for the feature to work.
The background web monitor periodically connects to user-specified websites to detect keyword changes. This processing occurs locally on your device, though the targeted websites will receive standard network requests (including your IP address and User-Agent) during these background checks.
Torrent and download activity may involve communication with third-party servers, peers, trackers, or other network endpoints selected by you or by the content/service you access. Those third parties may process information according to their own practices. Note that participating in P2P torrent swarms inherently exposes your IP address to other peers.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of downloads, torrents, and third-party content complies with applicable laws and the terms applicable to the content or service you access.
6. Personal and Sensitive Information
Apex Browser is not designed to sell personal information. We do not intentionally collect or sell your browsing history, bookmarks, saved passwords, or form contents to third parties for advertising purposes.
However, information you choose to submit to websites or online services may be collected directly by those services. In addition, any third-party service or SDK included in a particular version of the app may process information as described in its applicable documentation and disclosures.
7. Analytics, Advertising, and Third-Party Services
Apex Browser uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports. The app integrates AdMob to serve advertisements (including Rewarded Ads) and Google Play Billing to process premium subscriptions.
Third-party websites and services accessed through the browser are separate from Apex Browser and are governed by their own privacy policies.
8. How We Use Information
Where information is handled by Apex Browser or provided directly to us, it may be used only as necessary to:
- Provide and maintain the application and its features.
- Remember user preferences and locally managed browser data.
- Process support requests or other communications you initiate.
- Protect the security and reliability of the application.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not use browsing content or locally stored browser data for purposes unrelated to the application's disclosed functionality unless the user is separately informed and, where required, provides consent.
9. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information.
Information may be shared or transmitted when necessary to provide a feature you explicitly use, when you interact with a third-party website or service, when you voluntarily contact us, or when disclosure is required by law or is necessary to protect the rights, security, or safety of users and the application.
10. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the information we handle to protect it against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should use appropriate device security, keep Android and Apex Browser updated, and exercise caution when entering sensitive information into websites.
11. Data Retention and Deletion
Information stored locally by Apex Browser remains on your device for as long as needed for the relevant feature, until you delete it using the application's available controls, clear the application's data, or uninstall the application, subject to Android and device behavior.
If you contact us directly, we retain correspondence and related information only for as long as reasonably necessary to handle your request, maintain appropriate records, or comply with legal obligations.
Apex Browser does not currently provide user accounts. Therefore, there is no separate Apex Browser account database to delete through an account-deletion workflow. If account creation or cloud synchronization is introduced in a future version, this policy will be updated and an appropriate deletion process will be provided as required.
12. Children's Privacy
Apex Browser is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children. We do not knowingly request personal information from children for unrelated purposes. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that we can review the matter and take appropriate action.
13. Your Choices
You can control many aspects of Apex Browser's locally stored information through the application's settings and Android's system controls. You can also clear application data or uninstall Apex Browser to remove application data stored on your device, subject to files or data stored separately outside the application's private storage.
When visiting third-party websites, you may also have additional privacy choices provided by those websites or by your browser settings.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the application's functionality, data practices, legal requirements, or services change. The updated version will be published at the same public URL, with the effective date revised as appropriate.
